When Kae Tempest’s “Nice Idea” was released as a single a little while ago, I was a bit confused by the jungle-type beat and the lyrics about staying in bed all day with the person you love. (Probably a sign that I’m getting old.)
Now Nice Idea is also an EP, and embedded in the other tracks with different ‘vibes’, I like it. The EP is lovely, and includes basically everything I like about Kae Tempest: the flow, the storytelling, the creation of personal narratives that have a political message (whether intended or not). Take another great track of the EP, “Love Harder“.
Nice Idea is streaming everywhere such things stream, and I think also is released as a Record Store Day vinyl.
