‘To make an epoch’ is to make history, which is the product of the struggle and even the struggle itself; when there is no more struggle, there is no more history. So long as there is struggle there is history, and therefore hope. As soon as there is no more struggle, no more resistance from the dominated, the dominant have a monopoly and history stops.

It’s a bit of a far stretch, but this passage reminded me of Bayern München’s dominance over the Bundesliga.
