Just after I posted that brilliant (yet badly mixed) live version of Afraid of Everyone yesterday, The National released a nice video for “Bloodbuzz Ohio”, the song being the second reason why I’m about to go out to buy the record at my local indie retailer.
I think the scene in which he stands and sings in that in that cafe, surrounded by men in front of their notebooks is my favorite scene in a music video for quite some time. For me, it perfectly sums up The National. Classic, yet contemporary. Warm yet slightly displaced and melancholic.
