Songs for Swinging Lovers

I sometimes think that the Indelicates are what would’ve happened if Bernard Black from Black Books had started a (very, very good) band. The Indelicates have released a new record called Songs for Swinging Lovers, and once again it is filled with sarcastic lyrics, deceiving melodies and poetic contempt. Think Bernard Black hanging out with Art Brut and they’re all giving a fuck. They recorded it in Berlin, and I thought I heard a dash of Weill in “Europe.” Personal favorites so far are “Europe”, “Savages” and “Anthem for Doomed Youth.” It’s now also available for us Germans on a pay-as-you-like basis via Corporate Records. Well worth a listen.
