When President Obama spoke of investing in education in his speech in Berlin this week, these kind of crucial, debilitating cuts to basic educational resources are what I thought of first: Funding for California community colleges was cut by 10%. Funding to disabled student services at California community colleges was cut by 40%. Is it impossible for the federal government to step in and secure local high schools, and programs like these, that enable people from all different walks of life to access  basic, broad education? Is that really to much to ask for?
