Summer Rain: The Specter That Haunts the Obstwiesenfestial.

After two weeks of extreme heat and sun, the temperature has dropped and it’s started to rain here in Southern Germany. Normally I would welcome this, but that it had to happen this weekend is annoying: It’s the weekend of the Obstwiesenfestival, a brilliant open air festival in Dornstadt near Ulm. Two days of great music in a lovely atmosphere and all that for free!
Tonight I’m especially looking forward to Me and My Drummer and The Hundred in the Hands. In general there is a lot of indie synthie pop tonight, so I guess it’s a good thing I’m not 17 anymore. I’m really excited about tomorrow: Japandroids and The Hidden Cameras, two bands I’ve been longing to see live for quite some time. Plus Fiva, who I saw at a poetry slam a few years ago and who is a simply amazing spoken word artist. I think I’ll be live tweeting the event.

So let’s hope the heavens have a heart for the festival.
