Then there are commenters who still defend Joe Paterno, claiming he did enough, and that he’s still a hero. Please. Joe Paterno, from what I can judge from far away, was no mere employee of the school who followed the “chain of command” in reporting the allegations. The way it looks like from here, “Joe Pa” had a demi-god, monarch-like status for decades. And you want to tell me that he couldn’t have done more to investigate/stop what was happening in his football temple?
